PVE does not kill deer. I do my best to keep them away from your garden, shrubs, and trees.

Deer Info: The white-tailed deer is a stately, graceful animal distinguished by conspicuous ears, long legs, and narrow, pointed hooves. Adult males have spreading, branching antlers. The tail is brown above and white underneath. When deer are alarmed, the tail is raised high, revealing a white "flag" as the deer bounds off through the woods. Juvenile deer, or fawns, have white spots which fade with age. Adult males may weigh 200 pounds. Pennsylvania is, as you are no doubt aware, loaded with deer. Deer efficiently forage over a narrow home range with a diet consisting of trees, flowers, bulbs, shrubs, seedlings, vegetables, and fruits.

Nuisance concerns:The primary problem with deer is their appetite. They will eat a vast variety of vegetation. They can eat your crops, damage your trees, and can ruin your nice landscaping.

Deer pose a danger to automobile operators (and themselves of course) when they run across roads and highways. This is symptomatic of both the increase of roads into wilderness areas, and the increase of deer in this state.

Deer are also responsible for the spread of Lyme Disease, because they are carriers of Deer Ticks. Lyme Disease is an infection caused by a type of bacterium called a spirochete that is carried by deer ticks. An infected tick can transmit the spirochete to the humans and animals it bites. Untreated, the bacterium travels through the bloodstream, establishes itself in various body tissues, and can cause a number of symptoms, some of which are severe.
